Your rights as a client

  • information and education about your mental health
  • timely and quality treatment
  • interact with our healthcare providers
  • mechanisms of complaint and redress
  • refuse treatment (unless legal documentation shows otherwise)
  • advocacy
  • be treated in an appropriate manner
  • Not be discriminated against on the basis of age, race, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, or marital status
  • contribute and participate in your treatment
  • services in a safe, protected environment free from harassment
  • seek a second opinion
  • receive considerate and respectful care
  • be treated with dignity and respect
  • Know the name of the provider who has primary responsibility for coordinating your care
  • have reasonable continuity of care
  • receive treatment in the least restrictive setting
  • privacy and confidentiality


As a client you have the responsibility to:

  • know and follow office rules and regulations
  • be open to provide information about you
  • cooperate with all office personnel
  • Be considerate of other clients
  • provide information necessary for insurance processing and to recognize that you are responsible for any bills or charges owed
  • help your provider in their efforts to return you to health by following their instructions and advice
  • be respectful of office property and other clients property
  • advise your provider of any dissatisfaction with services
  • arrange transportation to and from appointments
  • keep your scheduled appointments as best as you can
  • ask your provider about anything you do not understand with regards to your care
  • update your insurance information and address as needed
